The wrestling season is in full swing and the next event I was asked to cover was a bout in Clifton, Bedfordshire. This was another fun packed evening with all the twists and turns you expect from an Ultimate British Wrestling event.
The middle of March took me to a venue I’ve known about for some time, but never actually done a shoot in; the Novotel in Stevenage. For this shoot I’d been asked to attend Alex and Aly’s engagement party.

This was a fun little shoot! Morris and Helen had recently got married in Las Vegas and wanted to hold a small party for close friends and family, and they asked me if I’d cover the evening to give them some photos to record the event. Continue reading
July continues to be a busy month, and the next shoot on the list was a follow-up to the Wrestling shoot I did in April, however this time rather than shooting the wrestling bouts as I’d done for Ultimate British Wrestling before I was asked to do a formal portrait shoot to promote UBW and the wrestlers’ individual careers.
One of the things that pleases me most about my photography is when I get a repeat job, and a text message a week before the Easter Bank holiday asking if I could cover a second UBW (Ultimate British Wrestling) event was just such a second job. Most of my memories of wrestling are from Saturday afternoon TV with “Giant Haystacks” and “Big Daddy” fighting it out on ITV’s World of Sport with Dickie Davis (that gives away my age…), however really have to be there to appreciate just how much fun these events are.
