I’m able to offer a range of portrait services as follows all of which can be tuned or adapted to your particular needs.
Nothing quite matches the quality or flexibility of a portrait shoot done with professional studio lighting under controlled conditions. I’m able to offer studio portraits either at my studio in Hitchin, or (subject to space) the convenience of your own home or office.
With studio lighting I’m able to set up many different styles of lighting depending on what you want. Each of the lighting styles has different qualities and can change the mood of the portrait completely depending on the look you’re after. Here are 3 different style to whet your appetites.
This is the classic 3 light portrait lighting. This is my standard set-up and can be used for both groups and individuals, and gives great flexibility.
In this shot I used a traditional technique dating from the early days of film making in the 1920’s and 30’s, with strong lighting and a black and white conversion this gives a fantastic look if you’re after something a bit different and with real class.
This is a really special look for when you’re after something glamorous. This technique can only be used for individual head shots but coupled with professional make-up (I can recommend a make-up artists if required) really does make for a very special shoot.
Birthday Party fashion shoot
One further service I can offer is the birthday party fashion shoot. Working with a professional make-up artist I offer a photo-party where I’ll come to the party venue, show the young models how to pose, provide props and give them a great set of unique photos, which really will be the talk of the playground for days!
Studio portraits are great for showing you as an individual, however for many portrait assignment the shoots, especially work place portraits, need to show the subject in their environment. I’m able to visit your workplace and create a range of images to show people in their natural environment.
Many companies need photos of their employees going about their business. Here I’m able to travel-light and will make use of studio and available light to provide a range of images which can be used on-line or in printed publications.
Again because I can travel easily portrait shots don’t have to be in the studio. I can make the best advantage of the location to produce portraits that link the subject and venue. This often allows the images to be used multiple times to promote different people, events or locations.
Finally there’s no reason why portraits even need to be taken indoors at all!
After the shoot
As with all of my shoots, as soon as possible after the shoot the photographs are backed-up to my server, then securely copied to an off-site backup to minimise the risk of loss.
The photographs are then individually processed, to get the absolute best from each image, this may well include conversion to black and white or the use of other artistic effects (air brushing and re-touching is available as a separate service). Since each photograph is individually processed typically takes a week. Once complete the images are delivered on CDs containing the full high-resolution images without copyright messages.
Please Note – I retain the copyright and ownership of all images and give right to use the images to promote your business (for personal shots the images may be used for any non-commercial purpose).
The portrait shoots start from just £100 for an hour’s shoot depending on location and the number of people to photograph for personal work and from just £300 for a half day for commercial photography.
