My first wedding of 2018 took me deep into the Cambridgeshire countryside to Cambourne and Childerly Long Barn for Steve and Ali’s wedding.
This year the wedding season came to an end with another local wedding; as I visited the St Francis of Assissi’s Church in Shefford and the Barns in Bedford to help a lovely couple, Guido and Sarah celebrate their wedding.
I’m a regular visitor to Wrest Park near Siloe in Bedfordshire however this summer I had the change to visit there in a professional capacity. One of this year’s wedding couples, Guido and Sarah wanted to do an engagement shoot as part of their wedding package and since we all love Wrest Park it seemed to be a great place to go As part of my wedding service I always like to meet the couple at least twice prior to the wedding, so with a sunny Sunday forecast killing two birds with one stone seemed ideal.
Mid-summer, and the end of the June heat wave, brought me to Northampton for a great family wedding.
This was an interesting little project where a professional musician asked me to take some pictures of one of his electric guitars to use as promotional shots.
Having shot Alex and Aly’s engagement party back in March, their big day finally arrived at the end of November. So with cameras in hand I was off to the beautiful city of Ely to shoot their wedding on a cold frosty morning that turned into a fantastic clear day. Continue reading

This weekend brought a rather unusual assignment – a charity event with a difference. Lee Gibbs set himself the target of rowing a distance equivalent to half a marathon – over 21 Km (13.1 miles) – to raise money for the MS society, although this is an impressive and worthy feat in itself, what makes it remarkable is the Lee himself suffers from MS and NMO and needs a wheelchair to get around!
A warm and surprisingly sunny Saturday in August took me to the Chesterfield Downs golf club near Stevenage and the wedding of Sonja and Russell. This was a great day as I followed Sonja’s preparations from hair and make-up in the morning, through to the informal and relaxed wedding ceremony – where Abbie their daughter played a starring role as ring bearer – and then onto a chilled afternoon reception overlooking the rolling Hertfordshire countryside.
During possibly the only dry week all summer I found myself travelling down to Epsom and the curiously named “Rubbing House” pub to shoot an 80’th birthday celebration. All birthday’s are special but this 80th birthday was particularly special for the birthday girl Christine because all 4 of her son’s, her 8 grand children and 2 great grand children were able celebrate with her along with many of her family and friends.
