One of the things that marks the start of Christmas for me is my regular trip to help out with the Hitchin Christian Centre’s Nativity celebration. This year the theme of the services is “The Big Celebration”, and as in previous years I was asked to run a fun photo shoot for the congregation to remember the day.
Each year the Hitchin Christian Centre put a great deal of energy into their Christmas celebration to bring the story of the nativity to life, and as part of this I’ve been asked to come along a take some fun portraits of the congregation to help them remember the day.
The team at the Hitchin Christian Centre, do a great job in decorating one of their function rooms to use as a background for me. This year they did a splendid job recreating the nativity scene with a beautifully painted sheep and donkey, a small crib and the stable as the backdrop. A little bit of Photo-shop magic put the stars into the night the sky and the scene was set.
This is always a great fun shoot to do, and although hard work it is rewarding. With 3 services there’s a constant stream of visitors – last year I shot over 300 groups – but working quickly means everyone gets through with the minimum of delays.
For those who attended the services, HCC (Hitchin Christian Centre) will be sending you a link via email so you can download your images directly, however if you’d like to see the full set they are available here on my Pro-Gallery (Click here).
